This teaching area explores digital fabrication and serial design processes through CAD/CAM, 3D scanning, additive manufacturing and prototype development. The courses investigate how analogue ideas can be translated into digital workflows and further developed into prototypes, moulds, small series or presentation models.

Questions of reproducibility, material behaviour, construction and production are approached as integral parts of the design process. Combining conceptual development with practical application, the projects encourage students to engage with contemporary production methods and evolving forms of making.
